Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.1 · Effective October 2, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everything you upload to FYProof and to how you use the Service. It also passes on the rules of the AI service providers we use: their prohibited uses are prohibited here too (see section 3).

1. Content you must not upload

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any content that sexualizes minors. We have zero tolerance. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), keep it as the law requires, close the account and cooperate with law enforcement.
  • Intimate images of anyone shared without their consent, including sexually explicit "deepfakes" of a real person.
  • Content you don't have the rights or permissions to upload, including other people's copyrighted work (see our Copyright (DMCA) Policy).
  • Content that is illegal, or that promotes or helps with serious harm: terrorism or violent extremism, human trafficking, the sale of illegal drugs or weapons, credible threats of violence, or self-harm instructions.
  • Content that harasses, threatens, or invades the privacy of a real person, such as their private information shared without permission.
  • Malware, or files made to exploit or disrupt our systems.

Checking a video with FYProof doesn't make it acceptable to post, and our reports never approve content.

2. Ways you must not use the Service

  • No extra free accounts. Don't create more than one free account, use throwaway email addresses, or otherwise get around check limits, plan limits or a suspension.
  • No scraping or automation. Don't access the Service with bots, scripts or other automated means except through features we provide for that.
  • No reselling. Don't sell, rent, sublicense or share access to the Service or your account, or offer it as part of another service, without our written permission.
  • No reverse engineering or probing. Don't try to copy, decompile or work out the Service's source code, models, prompts, instructions or internal configuration, or to make the Service reveal them.
  • No attacks. Don't test, scan or break our security, overload the Service, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
  • No getting around safety checks. Don't try to avoid or defeat our child-safety and abuse checks, for example by altering a video so it isn't recognized.
  • No building competitors from it. Don't use the Service or its reports to train or build a competing product or AI model.
  • No automated decisions about people. Don't use reports to make decisions about someone's employment, credit, housing, insurance, education, legal status or other important rights.
  • No misrepresentation. Don't present a report as an approval, certification or decision of any platform, or as legal advice, and don't pretend to be someone else or to act for a business or client you don't represent.
  • Don't help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.

3. Our AI providers' rules

Your content is processed by AI service providers (see Subprocessors). You must also follow their prohibited-use rules. They include, among others, Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy and the Gemini API Additional Terms. If one of them is stricter than this policy, the stricter rule applies.

4. What happens if you break this policy

We may remove content, refuse or stop a check, suspend or close your account without refund, and report illegal content to the authorities. Where it is appropriate and lawful, we tell you why and how to appeal. To appeal, reply to our email within 30 days and tell us why you think we got it wrong; a person reviews every appeal. We don't tell anyone about a report to NCMEC or law enforcement where the law or an investigation requires us not to.

5. Reporting a problem

To report content or behaviour that breaks this policy, use our report form or email abuse@fyproof.com. You don't need an account. To report a copyright issue, follow our Copyright (DMCA) Policy.
